Humanlight ~Human Right’s Day @ Froso's Family Dining
Dec 10 @ 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Come celebrate humanity, reason, & hope with us!

Humanlight is a celebration of the positive values of Humanism; Reason, Compassion, & Hope. Please bring the entire family.

At the core of Humanist values is the importance of Universal Human Rights and since this event is held on Human Rights Day and in culmination of our Amnesty International’s Write for Rights Campaign, there will be a reading of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

We will all break bread together and anyone who would like to get up to speak is encouraged to do so. You may read one of the letters you have written for the Write for Rights Campaign or a short inspirational reading from the work of a well known humanist-oriented author or leader.

We look forward to celebrating the Holidays with you.

Ethics for the New Millennium Study Circle @ Don Jose's Mexican Restaurant
Jan 3 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

A study circle is simply a gathering of friends who are interested in learning more about a
topic and how it can be applied in their lives. You do not have to change your life and you
do not have to commit to taking any major action. However, most people find that their
study does lead to personal, internal change and invigorates them to engage in some level
of action.

Ethics for the New Millennium is addressed to a general audience. It presents a moral
framework based on universal rather than religious principles. It rests on the observation
that those whose conduct is ethically positive are happier and more satisfied and the belief
that much of the unhappiness we humans endure is actually of our own making. Its
ultimate goal is happiness for every individual, irrespective of religious belief.

A Better Ten Commandments – Meet the Author @ Soldotna Library
Mar 8 @ 6:00 pm – 7:45 pm

Last Frontier Freethinkers will be hosting James Miller, a longtime Alaskan medivac bush pilot that now has written a new book called A Better Ten Commandments: A Guide to Living Life with, and on Purpose.

For the millions of non-believers, and the rapidly growing number of religiously disaffected A Better Ten Commandments filters through the chaos and confusion of daily life and provides a foundational framework for finding fulfillment without taking anything on faith. A Better Ten Commandments combines the best of history, religion, philosophy and science in a simple yet powerful framework that you can encorporate into your life.

It is a story of forgiving our faults, a story of hope for humanity, and ultimately, if we do what is neccesary, a story of our own redemption.

A Better Ten Commandments is about who we are, what we want, and what truly matters in life…

The only life that you can count on.
